Bali, Indonesia
In the year following my return from Bali, the research I completed
there on the behavior of different pairs of endangered Bali starlings
took shape in the form of my Senior Thesis, serving to complete
my degree in Psychobiology from Arcadia. It was titled An
observational study of the social and solitary behaviors of three
pairs of Bali mynahs (Leucopsar rothschildi) at two breeding facilities
in Bali, Indonesia, and in addition to a complete research
paper, it also consisted of a more condensed poster version. The
Research link contains
the final poster, and the thorough overview of my original research,
results, and conclusions. There is still more I would love to do
if I can ever manage to get back to Bali, such as studying in greater
detail some of the larger social groups of Bali mynahs. I am afraid,
though, that if I ever do get the opportunity to return to that
amazing, beautiful, magical little island, I may never want to leave.
Leaving the first time was hard enough. The photographs hardly do
it any justice.
